3. Think of some desserty thing that's vegan. I'd serve my frozen cake but I'm not sure there's enough for an army. Could make a thing of brownies.
Brownies are brownies because they are brown. Brown because they have chocolate in them. Right? So when I mix up a recipe for peanut butter brownies, I expect at some point to add cocoa, right?
WRONG.
And I even read the recipe first and didn't notice the absence of cocoa. Go me. Blah.
I think I may line up chocolate chips in rows and columns on one half of the pan to satisfy my chocolate longings... because frosting is too much work, and yet I must have some of it still be vegan because of dairy allergies in one of our guests and a vegan preference in most of them.
They do look quite pretty as they are puffing up baking. But they are not brownies. They are peanutties.
4. Tidy up downstairs.
Slowly, oh so slowly. I loaded up the dishwasher part way. I'll be adding more to it as soon as bread is done baking and I take it off the sheets. I need to dust off the table as well. It's full of bits and pieces of stuff.

Dan said he didn't sleep very well last night, either. This is of some comfort to me, although I'm sorry he's tired too.
Meanwhile, Spot is sound asleep on his chair storing up energy to keep us awake all night again tonight. Here's hoping our company rile him up sufficiently to wear him out before bedtime.
