I can't imagine. Since it's their own money they're spending. And pearls and diamonds still do cost serious big bucks, if they're real. And since the media's throwing stones, I'd like to point out that Michelle Obama ridiculed an economic stimulus payment as being barely enough to buy a pair of earrings. THAT is what I call out of touch.
