If you were put on trial for being a Christian, would there be enough evidence to convict you?

***

What you do and don't do is making a statement about God to the world.

***

If you are waiting for your church to have a revival, it will never happen. [This could apply to all kinds of relationships, not just the church! It reminds me of the poem "It Isn't the Church, It's You".]

***

The Lord only makes beautiful days. It is our attitude that makes them bad.

What is God's wrath? This verse clarifies it.

2 Thessalonians 1:5-10 (New International Version)

All this is evidence that God's judgment is right, and as a result you will be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you are suffering. God is just: He will pay back trouble to those who trouble you and give relief to you who are troubled, and to us as well. This will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven in blazing fire with his powerful angels. He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the majesty of his power on the day he comes to be glorified in his holy people and to be marveled at among all those who have believed. This includes you, because you believed our testimony to you.

This verse in the New Testament is essentially the same thing as God asked of Israel prior to entering Canaan in this passage in Numbers.

Azazel the Goat

Leviticus 16.8-10

And Aaron shall cast lots upon the two goats; one lot for the LORD, and the other lot for the scapegoat [Azazel].

And Aaron shall bring the goat upon which the LORD's lot fell, and offer him for a sin offering.

But the goat, on which the lot fell to be the scapegoat, shall be presented alive before the LORD, to make an atonement with him, and to let him go for a scapegoat into the wilderness.

The goat has been associated with pagan worship and specifically Satan worship for milleniums, yet there were certain sacrifices in the sanctuary that required goats. If, as we believe, the sanctuary and all its services and parts were a picture who Christ is and what His work was and is, why was a goat used for a sacrifice instead of a lamb?

The goat represents Satan, who represents sin. Jesus became sin, or became like sin, for us, hence a goat was sacrificed at this particular time.

The sin goes from me, the sinner, to the sanctuary, which is Christ, to eventually be placed upon the head of Satan at the end of time when he is cast out and destroyed.

JOHNNY IN A FEDORA

squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...

No, seriously. I really hope it's going to be as good as it SHOULD be. If anyone can do this kind of movie justice, it's Johnny.

Still, I'm going to retain a few worries until I can see it for myself.
